If you face barriers to employment, we can support you with finding and keeping a job, whether you:

  • have a disability or learning disability,
  • have a long-term health condition,
  • have autism, or
  • provide unpaid care for someone.

Connect to Work may be able to support you, if you:

  • are aged 16 or over,
  • have the right to live and work in the UK,
  • live in Cardiff,
  • are not currently in paid work, need support to find a job, or are at risk of leaving a job because you need support, and
  • are not already taking part in another government-funded employment programme.

We support people who experience barriers when it comes to work. This could mean someone living with a disability, a long-term health condition, or facing other challenges. For example:

  • People with physical or mental health conditions
  • Carers and ex-carers
  • Care leavers and care-experienced young people
  • People with experience of the criminal justice system
  • People experiencing or recovering from homelessness
  • Former members of the armed forces and their partners
  • People affected by substance dependency
  • Refugees and those on resettlement schemes
  • Survivors of domestic abuse or modern slavery
  • Young people at risk of serious violence

We welcome people from all backgrounds, communities and life experiences. Even if you are not sure whether Connect to Work is right for you, please contact us.

Employment can provide independence, social inclusion, and opportunities to learn new skills, develop, and progress. We can work with you to achieve your own goals while you are:

  • looking for work,
  • thinking about self-employment, or
  • already in a job.

We aim to:

  • get to know you, your strengths, preferences and goals,
  • give you guidance,
  • help you search for jobs, and
  • provide continued support to you and your employer.

After you sign up, we can assign a dedicated employment specialist to you. They will guide you every step of the way.

Support includes:

  • A personalised action plan and vocational profiling. This means you can decide the type of work you want to look for. We can also help you set out and achieve goals.
